Brrrrrrrread!

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (use the flour you prefer, I use a mix of coconut, almond, sometimes whole wheat)
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt (I use sea salt but do you boo)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Additional olive oil, for brushing

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, salt, sugar, and chopped rosemary.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix until the dough comes together.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, until it has doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  6. Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  7. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  8. Place the loaf on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Brush the top of the loaf with additional olive oil.
  10. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until it is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  11. Let the bread cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy your homemade bread with rosemary!

Note: You can also sprinkle some coarse sea salt on top of the bread before baking for extra flavor.
